Luke Armstrong has joined League One side Accrington Stanley on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals in 18 appearances for Gateshead in the National League while on loan during the first part of the season.
The striker was rewarded for his rich vein of form with a new contract at Boro, putting pen to paper after his recall from Gateshead, and he will now continue his development in League One.
Luke, son of former Boro striker Alun Armstrong, was released by Boro as an 18-year-old, but two years on he returned to the club after firing Blyth Spartans to promotion from the Northern Premier League, bagging 23 goals in the season.
He re-joined the club in the summer of 2017 having previously spent five years with the club’s Academy.
