Attacking midfielder Malik Dijksteel has signed a contract with the club until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, younger brother of Boro defender Anfernee, has impressed while on trial at Rockliffe.

Malik, who has been training with our Academy since the turn of the year, featured in the U23s game at Stoke a couple of weeks ago and also played in the friendly against Huddersfield last week.

Academy manager Craig Liddle said: “Malik has been training with us and has done well. The contract is an opportunity for him to be a part of things until the end of the season, and gives us the chance to keep monitoring his progress and development as a player.”

Malik is a product of the Feyenoord academy where he spent a decade from the age of seven. His most recent club was Dutch outfit Telstar 21.
