The extension means that our media partners BBC Tees will continue to provide commentary for all of Boro’s home and away games for the next three seasons, including the 2019/20 campaign.

Lee Fryett, MFC’s Head of Commercial, said: “We’re delighted to extend the contract with BBC Tees for the next three seasons. We have a great working relationship with BBC Tees and have for a number of years. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with them for the next three years.”

BBC Tees Managing Editor, Dan Thorpe, added: "We know how important it is for Boro fans to be able to follow their team’s fortunes on their local radio station. Home and away, we’ll continue to cover every game and can’t wait to get started with the new season."

Boro fans who haven’t made the trip to Luton Town for tonight’s Sky Bet Championship opener will be able to tune in to audio commentary with MatchdayLIVE.

Audio commentary will be available via the BBC Tees Sport team, with match passes priced at £3.

Seasonal audio passes are also available, priced at £45, and includes all first team fixtures in the Sky Bet Championship, Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.

There will be no video stream of tonight's match against the Hatters due to EFL broadcast regulations.
