Striker Luke Williams has joined Scunthorpe United on a permanent transfer.

The 22-year-old, a product of the club's Academy, spent two months on loan with the League One club last season, scoring twice in six appearances.

Williams, who has agreed a three-year contract with the Iron and joins for an undisclosed fee, made his Boro debut at Barnsley in December 2009 and went on to make 32 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.

In addition to a loan spell with Scunthorpe, Williams also had loan periods with Hartlepool United, Coventry City, and Peterborough United.

Luke departs with the very best wishes of all at Middlesbrough Football Club.
