Sunday night saw Boro named Team of the Year at the 2016 North East Football Writers' awards after last season's promotion heroics on Teesside.
Neil Bausor accepted the award on behalf of the club and said: "I'd just like to thank everyone for this recognition on behalf of Aitor and everybody else at the club."
"We had seven years of tough times and our success was down to commitment, effort, dedication as well as fantastic support from the fans.
"The fans were fantastic last season and continue to be so again this season."
"We're fighting hard (in the Premier League). We have a great bunch of lads, great coaching staff and great fans."
Sunderland's Jermain Defoe picked up the accolade of Player of the Year and Jordan Pickford was named Young Player of the Year, while England's Steph Houghton was named as Women's Player of the Year.
