Norwich City winger Onel Hernandez has joined the club on a season-long loan.
The Cuban international completed the formalities of his move after watching Neil Warnock's side draw 1-1 with Blackburn Rovers at the Riverside on Saturday.
The 28-year-old is a two-time promotion winner with the Canaries and has made over a century of appearances since joining the Carrow Road club in January 2017.
Hernandez, who became the first Cuban to play in the Premier League when he featured for Norwich against Liverpool in 2019, first made his name in Germany where he started with Arminia Bielefeld before spells with Werder Bremen II, Wolfsburg II, and Eintracht Braunschweig.
The Boro boss said: "I'm delighted to welcome him. He's just the type of player we've been looking for.
"I think he needs us as much as we need him, having not played an awful lot over the past year.
"He'll get plenty of opportunities here and I'm looking forward to working with him."
