On this day in 2001, Joseph-Desire Job and Christian Karembeu scored on what proved to be a final day of more than one farewell at the Riverside Stadium.
Cameroonian forward Job netted his first goal since the previous September to put Boro in front, latching on to Paul Ince's through ball and rounding Shaka Hislop to score.
Svetoslav Todorov equalised after good work from Joe Cole, but Christian Karembeu produced a fine finish from the angle to restore our advantage.
It proved to be the match winner, and Karembeu's fourth and final Boro goal before a move to Olympiakos that summer.
And after steering Boro to top flight safety, it was the end of an era in the dugout, too - as managerial duo Bryan Robson and Terry Venables both said their goodbyes to the Riverside before departing the club.
