On this day in 2004, Joseph-Desire Job netted a brace to send record crowd home happy.

The attendance of 34,836 for this festive fixture was a new high for Boro at the Riverside Stadium.

Job had come into Steve McClaren's side in place of the injured Mark Viduka, and did the business against the struggling Canaries.

The Cameroonian striker could in fact have had one of the Premier League's quickest-ever hat-tricks, but headed over the bar from an inviting cross from Stewart Downing.

Job then made amends with two goals in two minutes, stabbing home Downing's free-kick at the back post before latching onto a through ball from Franck Queudrue and slotting home through the legs of Rob Green.
