On this day in 2006, Boro came out on top in a seven goal end-to-end encounter with Bolton Wanderers at the Riverside.
Greek forward Stelios Giannakopoulos connected with a long ball forward to give Sam Allardyce's side the lead inside four minutes, but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink squeezed in a penalty in reply before the game had ticked over into double digits.
Mark Viduka polished off an incisive move to put Boro ahead before Hasselbaink grabbed his second with a deft lob in the opening minutes of the second half.
Bolton rallied to level it up again though, Jay Jay Okocha smashing in the rebound of an unconvincing penalty then Radhi Jaidi heading home with nine to play.
But Boro would have the final say, Stuart Parnaby the unlikely hero as he prodded in a stoppage time winner.
