On this day in 2015, Aitor Karanka's Boro side stunned Premier League champions Manchester City on their own doorstep.

After weathering a first half storm, resilient Boro edged in when Albert Adomah poked the ball past Willy Caballero and Patrick Bamford was on hand to ensure it crossed the line.

Boro continued the pressure as Tomlin struck the post following a mesmerising turn on Vincent Kompany.

The hosts almost drew level, but Frank Lampard's curling shot was denied by the woodwork, and Boro sealed the win in injury time when Kike fired a low shot passed Caballero.
