Our Under-23s have another opportunity to secure a place in the end of season play-offs when Crystal Palace visit Bishop Auckland on Friday (1pm).
Graeme Lee's side lost out to a stoppage time goal at Selhurst Park earlier this week after twice having their foot placed firmly inside the play-off door.
A win or a draw would at Palace have been enough to secure a top-five finish, but despite losing that game 3-2, a point will still do the job at Heritage Park on Friday.
A second defeat to the Eagles would leave Boro relying on Stoke City beating Sunderland on Monday to ensure a top-five finish and a place in the end of season promotion play-offs.
Boro were boosted by the presence of Connor Malley, Hayden Hackney, Jack Robinson, and William Kokolo earlier this week who all featured just 48 hours after sitting on the bench for the first team at Luton.
Malley scored twice in the game at Selhurst Park. He put Boro ahead in the first half and scored an equaliser to make it 2-2 with just minutes remaining before Palace nicked it at the death.
With the first team not in action until Saturday, Lee may not be be able to call on the quartet for the Palace game, and could have to shuffle his pack.
The game will be streamed live on our official YouTube channel.
