RF explained: "The COVID-19 pandemic has made the world we live in an unnerving and worrying place. All of the key workers still currently attending their places of work to ensure some form of normality for us, to keep us safe and to keep the country running despite the immediate risk to their own wellbeing deserve infinite praise.

"As a small way of thanks, RF08 are running an exercise based fundraiser to help buy a number of MFC season tickets for next season (when the new season is able to be started safely). These season tickets will be open to use for free for any key worker.

"As a group, we're looking to use our daily exercise to complete 2008 kilometres of exercise. We'll be doing this by walking, running, and cycling (outside and on exercise bikes) within the next 3 weeks.

"All government guidelines on social distancing will of course be followed strictly and should any of those rules be changed, we will change our plans accordingly and keep you updated with our total using Strava, Challengehound and other exercise apps to log totals correctly.

"Any donations at all are appreciated to help show gratitude for all our key workers and we hope you're all staying safe and well. To those protecting us, thank you."
