Boro have completed the signing of Ryan Shotton from Birmingham City on a three-year deal.
Shotton becomes Monk’s ninth signing of the summer and will take part in his first training session with his new teammates when the squad report back to Rockliffe Park on Thursday.
The defender has been consistently linked with a move to Teesside throughout the transfer window after Garry Monk confirmed that Boro had a bid accepted for the defender earlier this month.
The 28-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Boro’s backline having had a career spanning across three permanent clubs, including Stoke City, Derby County and Birmingham City.
Due to a confidentiality clause we are unable to disclose the fee in this deal.
