The 20-year-old, who has been in and around Boro’s First Team squad this season, will join the League Two side in a bid to continue his development as a player.

Stubbs, who joined the club on a two-and-half-year contract last summer, has captained our U23s this season and been a near ever present for the team.

He also sat on the bench for the first team during the Carabao Cup trip to Preston North End when the squad included 10 players who had progressed through the club’s Academy.

The youngster has gained previous experience in the EFL with Wigan Athletic, the club where he started his career, and with Crewe Alexandra. He also had a loan spell with AFC Fylde while at Wigan.
