James Lea Siliki was brought on for his first competitive international appearance in Cameroon's 2-1 defeat to the Ivory Coast this evening.
After making his debut and then first start for his country in a double-header against Nigeria back in June, this was the midfielder's third outing for his country.
Sebastien Haller did the damage with the Ivorians with a double in nine first-half minutes, though Nicoals Ngamaleu pulled one back just after the hour from the penalty spot.
Siliki, who joined Boro on loan from Rennes on Deadline Day, was introduced on 78 minutes as the Indomitable Lions chased an equaliser.
But hosts Ivory Coast held on to move above Cameroon to the top of Group D in World Cup qualifying.
