I feel privileged, humbled and honoured to be the new head coach of my hometown club @theboroofficial. I want to play an exciting, attacking brand of football, with high pressing . I want the fans to be able to connect with the players. I’m delighted to be joined by @robbiekeane, Leo, and Danny Coyne. We’ve got a philosophy at the club that I believe in and we are looking to develop a new identity. Thank you for all your support and I can’t wait to get started and take us forward together. #UTB
The new head coach said he wants to get fans on the edge of their sets with an attacking style of football, and Boro supporters are relishing the new season with Woodgate at the helm.
One of Woodgate's former teammates Robbie Keane will link up with him as part of the new coaching team, an appointment which has excited the Boro fans.
