Jonny Howson was Jonny on the spot as Boro came flying out of the blocks with a goal inside two minutes – the first for our number 16 this campaign.

Ashley Fletcher followed up his solid performance away at Blackburn Rovers by registering his first league goal this season with an emphatic finish past Joe Lumley.

The marksman took to Instagram to share his delight at getting off the mark, while more positive reaction emanated from the Boro dressing room.

Boro fans were pleased to see Fletcher net his maiden Championship goal this term, while Howson, Mo Besic and Dael Fry were also singled out for praise from the stands.

A new role for Howson in the previous two matches – which he’s excelled in – has seen him been compared to a World Cup-winning full back by one Boro supporter…

England Youth international Fry posted some impressive statistics in the Boro rearguard.

The performance from Tony Pulis’ side left supporters leaving the Riverside upbeat as we strengthened our grip on a place in the top six.

Saturday’s match saw the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum hold a collection for the local Foodbank, with plenty of donations made by supporters.
