Neil Warnock confirmed that Josh Coburn will be in his first team squad for tomorrow’s Championship curtain call against Wycombe Wanderers (kick-off 12.30pm).
Some of the Boro youngsters included in the senior squad in recent weeks could potentially have double duty, and also play in the Under-23s’ regular season finale against Crystal Palace this afternoon (1pm).
But Coburn will not be among them, having already featured in the U17 PL Cup final in midweek.
“Josh is with us tomorrow,” Warnock said.
“He looked tired yesterday having played with the Under-17s in the Premier League Cup final as well.
“What he’s done in the last six weeks is incredible, to go from the Under-18s and establish yourself in first team training.
“The mental strain and the euphoria from scoring your first goal and things like that, he did look tired and I had a word with him.
“The other lads want to play [with the Under-23s], they need a result to progress and it’ll be interesting, I’ll be there to watch it.”
Elsewhere, two more first team faces could return to the squad tomorrow.
“There’s Djed and Chuba who are available extra to the team that played last week,” Warnock said.
“We haven’t got a great deal of choice otherwise, but so be it.”
