Neil Warnock says that Djed Spence is his only new injury concern ahead of Saturday’s trip to Luton Town (kick-off 3pm).
The Boro manager says that while he only has a small squad to pick from, the right-back is as yet the only additional potential absentee.
“We’re very similar, to be honest,” he said.
“Djed had a bit of a knock in training, I’m not sure if he had a scan in the end but I think he is back in training today.
“Other than that, everyone we had last week is available.
“Mendez-Laing is getting better but he’s touch and go so I doubt he will feature again.
“His contract is up so he has to look after himself, wherever he is for pre-season. I can’t expect him to come back for one game if he’s not right.”
Meanwhile, the Boro boss has enjoyed seeing the progress of the youngsters he has named in his squad in recent weeks.
“It’s given everyone a lift,” he said.
“I’ve always said if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
“Players like Josh [Coburn] have been training with us for a good few weeks now and he’s put in a lot of hard work, but it’s great when young lads do that and come in without any fear.
“It’s great to be able to give them an opportunity, even if it’s just for a few minutes of a game.”
