Neil Warnock has ruled Ashley Fletcher out of this weekend’s visit of Cardiff City, but is hopeful his injury is not as severe as the one that ruled him out earlier in the campaign.
After two goals in his first two games since his return, Fletcher pulled up in the early stages of the midweek defeat to Bristol City.
“I don’t think we know the exact amount of time just yet,” Warnock said.
“But we definitely know he won't play this weekend. I imagine he’ll be two or three weeks.”
Meanwhile, Yannick Bolasie and Marcus Tavernier are continuing to progress, and with two away games next week the Boro boss may look to reintroduce them once ready.
“Tav and Yannick are both training, but we have to be careful with them,” he said.
“They are getting better, but with so many games coming up you don’t want to take unnecessary risks.
“Bolasie trained really well yesterday, and we’re going to have a meeting today to check up on him. Apparently he’s a week away.
“Tav will be a big plus as well - you want his type of enthusiasm.”
