Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has been added to Boro's list of injury absentees ahead of the trip to Rotherham United tomorrow (kick-off 6pm).

The winger hasn't featured since Boro's away defeat to Bournemouth at the start of the month, and manager Neil Warnock confirmed he will sit out at least the next couple of matches.

"Mendez is a way off yet," he said.

"He'll not been involved in the next two. We might be able to get a game out of him before the end of the season - I honestly don't know at the moment.

"He could play a part in Luton and Wycombe."

The Boro boss has also explained his thinking when it comes to blooding youngsters at the back end of the campaign, with the likes of Josh Coburn, Connor Malley and Hayden Hackney all unused subs in Saturday's defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

"I think you have to be careful, it's putting them in at the deep end really," he said.

"Players like Josh have had some really good games for the youth teams and then some average ones as well.

"But I would like to give them a chance, we'll see what opportunities arise and how things go.

"We'll be looking to give Sol Brynn a game at some point, too, I've explained that to Jordan [Archer] and Marcus [Bettinelli].

"We've got some very good young goalkeepers but they need to be playing games, we'll look to get them out on loan next season."
