Neil Warnock says that Uche Ikpeazu and Martin Payero are being monitored ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Luton Town (7.45pm).

The pair are injury concerns after the weekend’s defeat to Birmingham City, Ikpeazu withdrawn in the first half.

“Uche’s having a scan I don’t think he’ll be available,” Warnock said.

“Martin isn’t training today either, I don’t think it’s a strain as much as fatigue. It’s a tough league to come into physically.

“We’ll give the lads as long as we can, we can train tomorrow morning before the game.”

The return of Anfernee Dijksteel to Boro’s substitutes’ bench was a plus at the weekend, but Warnock is not expecting any more returning to the squad at Kenilworth Road.

“It was nice to see Anfernee on the bench,” he said.

“We won’t have any of the others back just yet.

“The physios weren’t 100% on Dijksteel’s inclusion and thought he could do with a few more days, so I really wasn’t tempted to bring him on.

“But you only have to look at the bench, we haven’t got a lot of experienced back-up.

“It gives an opportunity to younger lads.”
