The striker limped out of our last Riverside match against Bournemouth, and could yet be involved when Barnsley visit on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

“We look like we’re going to have the same squad to pick from, although I think Ashley might be fit,” Warnock said.

“I haven’t seen him yet but he’s doing some light training today and a bit tomorrow, so hopefully he’ll be available.

“I’m tempted not to rush him back with the international break. We’ll need him as the season goes on, so we’ll wait and see.”

One man who is definitely ruled out is Grant Hall, a casualty of the visit to former club QPR last weekend.

“He won’t be fit this week,” Warnock confirmed

“It’s difficult to put a set time on it at the moment, but again we’ll have chance to have a good look at him in the break as well. If you are going to come off injured it’s a good time because you have those couple of weeks to recover.”
