Grant Hall is a doubt for tomorrow’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday (kick-off 3pm).
The Boro man received several stitches following a nasty collision with Rotherham’s Matt Crooks on Wednesday evening, the Millers midfielder dismissed as a result.
Manager Neil Warnock says he will check on his defender today.
“I think he had seven stitches in the end,” Warnock said.
“I’ll have to take a look and see how he is today.
“If there’s any doubt at all we won’t play him, we’ll just have to play it by ear.”
Two midweek absentees could yet make tomorrow’s game, while two more have been ruled out.
“I think Djed Spence will be available,” Warnock said.
“Hayden Coulson I’m not sure about, he was unwell in midweek.
If he comes in today and says he’s OK, we’ve got enough room for both of them on the bench haven’t we.
“Mendez-Laing and Darnell Fisher are a few weeks away yet I think.”
Having beaten one of the Championship’s bottom three and with two more to play including Wednesday, Warnock says Boro’s players owe it to the competition and themselves to go all out for another three points.
“I will pick my strongest team, I think it’s only right,” he said.
“I’m sure a few Wednesday fans won’t be pleased to be playing me, but they will have been pleased the other night if they saw how we played.
“We’ve got Wycombe to come as well so we have to give it everything, and of course we want to finish as high as we can.”
