Neil Warnock will be assessing the fitness of his players before firming up his selection for Wednesday’s visit of Derby County (7pm).
The Riverside clash is the second in a whopping run of nine games in 28 days and comes less than 72 hours before Boro face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
“We have one or two little niggles but we have another 24 hours before the game so we’ll see how the lads are,” said the boss. “I don’t expect anyone new to come into the squad.”
Paddy McNair, who played three games in seven days for Northern Ireland last week before returning straight into the Boro side for Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Norwich City, is being treated lightly, while new signing Duncan Watmore has had another few days under his belt on the training pitches.
Ashley Fletcher, Marcus Browne, and Sam Morsy all missed the weekend game due to injury.
