1. Guedioura is from sporting family. His father, Nacer Guedioura, is a former Algerian international striker, while his mother, Enriqueta Soreira Pons, was a basketball player in Spain. Younger brother Nabil is also a professional footballer, who last played for Crystal Palace's development squad.

2. An Algerian international, Guedioura has 38 caps to his name, scoring twice. His international teammates include Leicester City duo Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani, and Spurs' Nabil Bentaleb, currently on loan at Schalke.

3. His Algeria debut came against the Republic of Ireland in 2010, while he also appeared as a substitute when 'El Khadra' drew 0-0 with England in the World Cup later that year.

4. The most recent of his caps came in this year's African Cup on Nations. Guedioura was an ever-present in his side's three games, but Algeria failed to progress from the group stage.

5. Guedioura has notched up more than 170 appearances for four clubs since arriving in England in 2010. 79 of those games were in the Premier League.

5. He was once, briefly, a teammate of George Friend at Wolves - his first club in England, as well as Patrick Bamford during the striker's time at Crystal Palace.

6. This is not Guedioura's first Deadline Day move - the midfielder signed for Palace on the final day of the transfer window in September 2013.

7. Guedioura has featured in four games against Boro, three times for Nottingham Forest and once for Watford.

8. The last of those four fixtures was a pivotal game for both Boro and The Hornets. Man of the Match Guedioura laid on an assist for Troy Deeney and also stung the palms of Dimi Konstantopoulos as Watford beat Boro 2-0 at Vicarage Road in April 2015, leapfrogging the Teessiders in the Championship table.

9. The 31-year-old is known for his powerful long-range shots, earning him the nickname Rocket Factory. 

10. In the 2011-12 season, he won Goal of the Season for both Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers with his only two strikes of the campaign. The first was in a 5-0 win against Millwall and the second in a 7-3 victory over Leeds United.
