Important information for fans travelling to the Preston game...

The Whitehouse Railway Crossing, connecting Dockside Road to Cargo Fleet Road and adjacent to the Navigation public house is currently undergoing upgrade works. These works are due to continue until the end of November.

Following detailed discussions with Network Rail’s Project Director the below plans have been agreed.

Arriving by car/coach

The level crossing will remain closed throughout the day and all vehicle drivers should follow the diversion signs.

Access to Car Parks A, B, C, D, F and the Visitors’ coach park will be unchanged. Access to Car Park E will remain unchanged until 5pm and thereafter it is recommended that drivers heading for Car Park E should leave the A66 at the Cargo Fleet Lane junction (the next junction after the Middlehaven intersection if heading Eastbound from the A19). Please look out for McDonalds at the junction.  Take the second exit at the roundabout on to works Road and drive over the bridge then turn right (second exit) at the next roundabout into Dockside Road.

Kindly note that no parking will be allowed on the westbound (railway side) of Dockside Road and police/Middlesbrough Council officials will be in the area to enforce the restrictions.

MFC’s standard road closures will continue to be enforced from 6.45pm.

Arriving on foot

Network Rail has agreed to open a passageway across the Whitehouse Crossing from 6.45pm to 7.45pm and again from 9.30pm to 10.30pm to allow anyone on foot to cross the railway lines. This is, of course, subject to the movement of trains along the line. Outside these times supporters should either use the accessible ramp connecting Cargo Fleet Road to Shepherdson Way or the Sailor’s Trod underpass.

Middlesbrough Football Club, Network Rail and the police will have staff in the area to assist and direct supporters before and after both games.
