Our U23s won their first group game, now they take on Birmingham City tonight.
It was just over a month ago on a cold, wet night at Alfreton when Paul Stephenson's side won 3-0 against Nottingham Forest.
That result put them top of the table ahead of Derby who had earlier beaten Birmingham 1-0.
A repeat of two the elements tonight, winning and cold, would be acceptable.
"We'll settle for that, but we want a performance from the lads too," says the lead coach of the U23s who is also looking for a reaction from his side following defeat at Blackpool in the Checkatrade Trophy last Wednesday.
"It was similar to the other games (we have lost in that competition),” he reflected following a 4-1 defeat for his side at Bloomfield Road.
“It didn’t feel like a 4-1, we had really good chances and we’ve been caught with a sucker punch when we’re back in the game.”
“It was a frustration that we couldn't build on getting back in the game at 2-1, the only thing that was lacking was the finish at times.
“One or two were apprehensive, one or two didn’t play as well as they have done. They have to get rid of apprehension and see this as a challenge.
“I’m sure they will.”
Kick-off at Bishop Auckland’s Heritage Park is 7pm
Admission is free to Boro Season Card holders, £3 to everyone else.
