A late goal from Rumarn Burrell saw Boro's Under-23s to a hard-earned point at Norwich on Friday evening.
The travelling Teessiders took the lead at Norwich's Lotus Training Centre, Ben Liddle finding the back of the net with a deflected effort after Northern Ireland international Michael McGovern had saved an initial shot from Burrell.
Both sides hit the bar in an entertaining first half, Daniel Adshead striking the woodwork for the Canaries before the lively Burrell did the same for Boro.
Sam Folarin also could have added to his two goals against Swansea a week ago but was twice narrowly off target.
Norwich equalised just before the break as Gassan Adhame stroked in from inside the area, and the home side had turned the match on its head by the hour mark as Ciaren Jones headed home.
Boro's Jones, Isaiah, almost made his mark as Graeme Lee's side went in the hunt for an equaliser, but was denied by a double save from McGovern.
Then the crossbar was Boro's enemy again, this time Stephen Wearne denied as he connected with a cross from substitute Terry Stephenson.
But Boro battled to a deserved point, with Burrell lashing in on 89 minutes to level up the scores.
