New signing Anfernee Dijksteel says he's excited about making a 'big step' in his career after joining Boro.
Dijksteel became our fourth summer addition when he put pen to paper on a three-year deal from Charlton Athletic on Wednesday morning.
The one-time Netherlands Under-20s international says it’s a big step for him to link up with the Teessiders after a successful spell with the Addicks, and believes he fits the bill for Jonathan Woodgate.
“It’s a big step for me, it’s a big club, new people, new everything so I’m happy to be here,” he said.
“The manager wants to play football, he wants to play quick football, the size of the club and I think nearly everyone wants to play for Middlesbrough.”
