The forward was in fine form as his brace sunk hometown club Bolton on Tuesday evening, though he accepts that tougher tests will come.

"It was a good performance, and much needed after recent results," Fletcher said.

"Hopefully it's a stepping stone to get back on track and move up the league.

"If you look at our recent performances, we weren't at the races at Villa and Swansea but in other games we've done enough to win, and that hasn't materialised.

"In football it's all about getting the points and we've done that tonight."
