Boro head for Anfield with Liverpool needing a win to secure Champions League football next season but Gibson says the away side will be giving their all to have an impact on the final league standings.

"We've played in games in the past when teams have had nothing to play for and they've worked their hardest," said Gibson. "So we'll be looking to go down there and have an effect on the league table."

The team will be backed by yet another sold out away allocation, despite Boro's fate having already been confirmed with relegation at Chelsea.

And Gibson says the onus must be on giving the fans something to look forward to for next season.

"We've got to give our amazing fans something to cheer about. They've got to look forward to next season and we have to do that with a good performance."
