The striker ended Boro’s wait for a goal with a smart first half header, then levelled things up with a delicate chip in the second after the hosts had taken the lead.

“I think we deserved more out of the game,” he said.

“People go through patches [without scoring].

“I always have belief in myself, and for every striker, you score a goal and you’re on top of the world.

“Going in at half-time we knew we could get something, we didn’t give up and I think we could have got the win.”
