Academy Manager Craig Liddle believes that confirmation of Boro's Category One Academy status is a fitting tribute to the departing stalwarts, Dave Parnaby and Ron Bone.
Parnaby and Bone left their roles after decades of service last week and Liddle has heaped praise on all whose work contributed to Rockliffe Park being named as a top academy next season.
"I think with Dave and Ron leaving, first and foremost it's a fitting tribute that they're leaving the club as Category One Academy," said Liddle.
"A lot of hard work has gone in from all of the Academy staff and everyone else at the football club.
"We've had to improve facilities and staffing levels. There's an awful lot of work gone on and it's testament to everyone that we've got Category One status."
