The Boro youngster was deployed in a series of positions including right back and centre midfield as Tony Pulis shuffled the pack to combat the hosts.

Fellow Academy graduate Marcus Tavernier made a telling contribution from the bench, levelling things up just after half-time.

And in the end, Fry says it was a valuable point on the ground he made his debut three years ago. 

"It's a difficult place to come to, we knew that beforehand," he said.

"We changed our shape a little during the game to go a bit more direct and be a bit more aggressive.

"It was bit of brilliance from Tav and he's managed to get himself another goal.

"The momentum we've got is massive and the games come thick and fast so we've just to got to keep our heads down and keep grafting.

"We kick on from here and take it into Saturday's game."
