The Riverside Stadium will play host as England’s Under-21s cross swords with Scotland in European Championship qualifying in October.
After reaching the semi-finals of the competition in Poland earlier this summer, qualification for the 2019 Euros began for Aidy Boothroyd’s side this September. Boro's Dael Fry was involved as the Young Lions made an unbeaten start to the campaign, with a draw against the Netherlands and a win against Latvia.
It’s shaping up to be another exciting journey, and on Friday October 6, the Riverside is the venue as Scotland come to town to face the Auld Enemy.
England will be hoping to put on a similar show to their last visit to Teesside when Gareth Southgate’s side beat Germany 3-2 in a thrilling encounter back in March 2015.
MFC's COO Mark Ellis said: "The club is delighted to have been asked to host another England international following on from the success of the game against Germany. We hope that the people of Teesside will once again come out in force to support the Young Lions in their UEFA qualifier."
