George Saville says Boro were gutted not to be able to reward Boro's travelling fans with three points against Queens Park Rangers.
Over 2,000 made the trip to Loftus Road on Saturday, and Saville says they deserved more as the midfielder's second goal in Boro colours - a sweetly struck volley - wasn't enough for Boro on a drab day in the capital.
"We weren't good enough today," he said.
"We didn't start the game well and conceding so early put us straight on the back foot.
"I think we reacted well and we came out well in the second half to get the equaliser. At 1-1 we're right back in it with our tails up, but maybe we should have got our shape back and been more composed.
"It was so open in the second half that it could have gone either way, and in the end we were punished.
"We had moments but overall I don't think we deserved to win."
Saville praised the Boro following who were vocal throughout in miserable conditions.
"Fantastic support from all of them making the trip down to London," he said.
"We appreciate it and it's a shame we couldn't get three points for them and us."
