Boro exited from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and were edged out last weekend when Brentford were the visitors to the Riverside.

And Woodgate expects his players to respond when we head to Ewood Park, with both sides aiming to secure their first three points of the season.

“I’m sure I’ll get that off my players, I’ve got it on the training pitch, so hopefully I get it on Saturday,” he said.

“The first league win will be nice to come by, but it’s only two games in.

“It’s very early in the season, we’re a work in progress, we’re trying to change a lot of aspects of our game, so if doesn’t come in the third game – it doesn’t come. But we will be trying to get it.”
