Boro were edged out by promotion-chasing Leeds United before by being denied our first victory since the turn of the year with a late leveller from Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

And Woodgate hopes his side can go one better tomorrow at The Valley by picking up three points.

“We look to the Charlton game now and hopefully we go there and we play as well as we did against Nottingham Forest and against Leeds but with a different result," he said.

“You need points wherever you can, and this isn’t the be all and end all this game.

"There’s nine more to go after this, but you need to get as many points as you can on the board."
