The Teessiders will be based in the capital for the week with two games in two different competitions - Spurs in an FA Cup replay tonight (8.05pm) before travelling to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in the Championship on Friday evening.

Woodgate feels it will be a test for his players during the five-day stint in London, but it's something they should relish with our first-ever visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium up first.

“I’ll learn a lot from my players in this game, especially the young ones – how do they cope with it all. It’s a big game and hopefully we can cause an upset," said the Boro boss.

“They’ve got an unbelievable team with an unbelievable manager, so the odds are stacked against us.

"Upsets do happen so you never know. It’s a fantastic stadium, a fantastic chance for our fans to go down there also to see it and experience the atmosphere as well."
