Boro boss Tony Pulis says his side need to dust themselves down following the 3-1 defeat away to Swansea City.
Midfielder George Saville grabbed a consolation goal inside the last 10 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to spark a fightback from the Teessiders.
“They can’t leave scars on themselves after these kind of performances and it was only second half where we got going. The third goal killed us, if it’s two we’re still in the game,” he said.
“It was a difficult game for our centre halves today, it was always going to be a difficult game. They were a Premier League team last year and they’ve got top players high up the pitch.
“We’ve got to dust ourselves down, everyone is doom and gloom and I can understand that and there’s no one more disappointed than myself that we haven’t got anything out of this game.”
