Tony Pulis expects a testing challenge against a well-regimented Leeds United side at a packed Riverside tomorrow afternoon (1pm).
Boro welcome the Championship’s second-place side tomorrow aiming to continue our unbeaten league start to 2019.
After last week’s victory away to fellow promotion chasers West Brom, Pulis feels a well-marshalled Leeds will present a completely fresh challenge to what we've encountered already.
“It was a great result (the 3-2 win at West Brom), the lads really stepped up to the mark,” he said.
“We’ve got a different test Saturday, the different shape that they play, the different way that they play.
“Looking at them, they’re well-coached, well-managed, they work their socks off and they’re very well organised.
“It’ll be a tough game for us and we know it’s going to be a tough game.”
Over 30,000 tickets have been sold for the game tomorrow, and it could exceed our highest crowd of the season so far against Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day.
Pulis expects the Riverside to be roaring tomorrow afternoon, and hopes that the performance can match it.
“I don’t think we’ll have any problems from the terraces, I think if we put a performance in they’re going to be absolutely fantastic,” said the Boro boss.
“But we have to put a performance in, so the players have to realise that the ones we pick, the ones fit enough to start, even the ones on the bench if they’re called on, they have to give everything on the pitch tomorrow.”
