Tony Pulis felt Boro didn't deserve to come away from the City Ground with anything after the defeat to Nottingham Forest.
A double from Joe Lolley and one from Alexander Milosevic sealed the points for Forest.
“I don’t think we deserved anything out of the game," Pulis said.
“It caught up a little bit with us having two defenders on the pitch in (Ryan) Shotton and (Aden) Flint and once they got the first goal, we opened up a little bit and started to chase it, then you’re relying on people in the team who have got the ability to do stuff and we didn’t.
“We looked really open and we opened it up to try and win and it made us worse.”
