On-loan midfielder James Lea Siliki played the final 30 minutes as Cameroon took a huge step towards World Cup qualification on Saturday.

Cameroon were 4-0 winners against Malawi in South Africa in their penultimate AFCON Group D World Cup qualifying group game, and they now face Ivory Coast in a winners-takes-all showdown on Tuesday.

Malawi handed Lea's Siliki's side the lead inside half-an-hour when John Banda conceded a penalty and Vincent Aboubakar converted.

Malawi were reduced to 10 men after Banda was dismissed and Napoli's Andre Zambo Anguissa doubled the advantage before the break.

Lea Siliki replaced the opening goalscorer in the second half and Cameroon did wonders for their goal difference by scoring twice in the space of three minutes late on, Christian Bassogog doing the damage.
