Goalkeeper Zach Hemming has joined Scottish Championship side Kilmarnock on loan for the new season, subject to the relevant clearances being received.

The highly-rated 21-year was a regular in our Under-23s last season and it’s hoped that the loan move north of the border will give him added experience of senior football.

Zach, who joined our Academy at U13 level, has had previous loan spells with Darlington, Hartlepool United, and Blyth Spartans, but the move to Kilmarnock and second tier football in Scotland offers a step up.

Kilmarnock were relegated from the SPL last term and their new campaign gets underway on 10 July when they kick off with a Scottish League Cup tie at East Kilbride.

Boro goalkeeping coach Ian Bennett said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Zach to go and enhance his development and to take on and meet new challenges.”
