  • Gateshead-born left-back Hayden was a member of Boro’s double-winning U18s side in 2014/15 and was rewarded with his first call-up for England U19s.
  • Hayden, who joined our Academy at U13 level, had previously won caps for England U16s and U17s.
  • He spent the first half of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Scottish Premier League St Mirren, scoring his first-ever career goal in a 6-0 win over Dumbarton in the Scottish League Cup. He made 11 appearances for the Paisley-based side who changed manager early in the campaign.
  • Hayden returned to us, then linked up with League Two Cambridge United in January 2019 on loan for the rest of the season, making 14 appearances for the U's.
  • Hayden made his debut for Boro in the opening game of the 2019/20 season at Luton Town.
